All Winnipeg Window Factory aluminum awnings are made entirely of aluminum fastened together by aluminum rivets and/or cadmium plated steel screws. Strengthening members are of high tensile strength aluminum alloys, with thickness' varying from .025 inches to .051 inches.
These awnings are monocoque type construction (coverings act as stress bearing members) and therefore require little actual framework. Each crimp of interlock produces a work-hardened strengthening member.
Aluminum in its natural mill finish does not firnish good paint adhesion. All aluminum materials that go into Winnipeg Window Factory awnings are therefore properly prepared for paint by a series of hot bath solutions to clean and degrease the metal, and adequately etch the aluminum for the best possible paint adhesion. The final coat of paint is a thick layer of baked on enamel, which ensures years of beauty and shine.
The Step-Down Decorator Awning from the Winnipeg Window Factory offers a similar appearance to the Ventaire Awning but is designed for windows or decks that are exposed to tremendous heat exposure during the day. This awning's main covering has no vents or slots, and is supported by a heavy-duty understructure. The step-down Decorator, a simple awning in a contemporary design.

THE FOLD-UP
The Fold-Up is a Winnipeg Window Factory exclusive. This Aluminum awning system is designed to fold up and out of the way when not required by either an outside rope control or a mechanical inside control. The entire structure is composed of heavy gauge aluminum allowing for tremendous strength. We have spanned these awnings across 180" picture windows without bracing!

The Ventaire Awning is another Winnipeg Window Factory exclusive. The Ventaire combines the attributes of a stationary awning design with the benefits of a retractable awning. The main structure of the Ventaire is composed of a heavy gauge aluminum understructure, which we cover with our exclusive Ventaire main panel. The panel has been designed to provide a high degree of shade protection while still allowing a degree of visible light to pass through it.

The Koolshade features a heavy-duty understructure and interlocking panels in a choice of Twelve standard colors. The Koolshade is a perfect awning for storefront applications because it can be assembled on site by our installation crew resulting in awnings that can be 200 plus feet in length.
